Beaches

Hilton Head Island enjoys twelve miles of white, sandy and accessible beach on the Atlantic Ocean. Within that twelve mile stretch there are four designated public beach areas and one island resident beach. Parking spaces for automobiles and bicycle racks are available for beach visitors and residents at each designated beach area.

Daufuskie Island, located one mile across Calibogue Sound from Hilton Head, enjoys four miles of white, sandy and accessible beach on the Atlantic Ocean, stretching from Haig Point to the southern tip of Bloody Point.

Golf

More than 45 world-class golf courses await your pleasure. The game of golf is a Hilton Head tradition. Some of the most exciting courses in the country are located on Hilton Head Island, in the Bluffton area and on Daufuskie Island. Regardless of your handicap, there is a golf course to challenge you, and at a reasonable cost. If you want target golf-- it is here; links golf-- it is here; elevated greens and narrow fairways -- they are here also. Come play golf courses designed by such notables as Trent Jones, Reese Jones, Davis Love III, Pete Dye, Fuzzy Zoeller, Tom Weiskopf, Tom Fazio and, of course, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus.

Tennis

The Hilton Head Island tennis teaching and playing facilities and accommodations also are world renowned. There are tennis facilities which can accommodate every level of play year round, whether you are on Hilton Head Island, in the Bluffton area or on Daufuskie Island.

Boating

If you are more inclined to water sports, there is plenty of room for your boat. You’ll find many marinas and public boat ramps and public docks available to you, whether you are a resident or a visitor. If you do not have a boat, each of the marinas on the island provides rental boats and ocean fishing excursions. Also, creek and river fishing is good all year-round.

Biking

You can ride bikes just about anywhere, anytime -- on the beach or on the many bicycle paths located throughout Hilton Head Island. And on Daufuskie Island, bicycles are one of the two primary means of transportation -- the other being the golf cart.

Natural Resources

Come and enjoy the beauty of the natural wild life that inhabit Hilton Head Island, Daufuskie Island and the Bluffton area -- and experience the abundant marine life in the surrounding waters. You can find out about the Island’s natural resources by visiting the Hilton Head Island Coastal Discovery Museum.

The Arts

The arts community is very much alive and well on Hilton Head Island and in the Bluffton area. “The area has become a haven for visual and performing artists in many media”. You can always find an artistic happening occurring on Hilton Head Island or in the Bluffton area.
